Mountain architecture is what this company designs; they are also one of the mountain architects who label themselves as:  post and beam architects, timber frame designers, log home architects, Arts & Crafts house designers.

They also provide mountain architecture of both residential and commerical structures.  Mountain Theming is more than a mere use of materials; it has to do with the philosophy of spacial arrangement and requires substantial expertise in high-altitude architecture. That Architect, ArCH/NCARB (Senior Staff Architect for this company), was the architect of record on about half of Jurassic Park for Universal Studios in Orlando. This experience with heavy log, post and beam, timber frame and boulder and rock provided The Architect with considerable ability in these materials, which are indigenous to mountain architecture.

Mountain architecture

is the focus of this firm’s practice.  They are highly experienced in timber frame and post and beam architecture.

He has toured the Rocky Mountains to the west and lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east.   He has traveled into Canada, the Grand Canyon, Washington state, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Yellowstone National Park, Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Texas, Florida, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

He has also toured and in fact, lived in some of these states and worked in some of these countries: Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, France, England, Kuwait, Germany and the Alps.  That Architect Architect is a home architect and one of his specialities is in mountain architecture.

The Architect understands mountain architecture joinery, including timber frame systems, post and beam and conventional construction.  Timber frames are usually connected with mortise and tenon joinery and post and beam normally have simpler means, using steel bolts and plates.  However, The Architect has developed methods of securement that make post and beam structures appear to be timber frame at a fraction of the cost, which delivers real value to his clients: the appearance of an expensive system using humbler means.

Mountain architecture:

spectacular homes in Highlands and Cashiers

The company’s mountain architecture is rooted in countries and states far and wide. The Architect’s great gThe Architectfather, Andreas, was a carpenter in Bavaria (southern Germany) and he immigrated to America in 1869. His Bavarian mountain craftsmanship endures to this day in Germany and in the Midwestern USA. That Architect continues this heritage. It is in his blood. His work is rooted in the philosophical basics of timeless mountain homes. The sun rises, soars across the sky in a predicable path, then sets. Mountain architecture acknowledges this.  Much of what people interpret as mountain architecture has to do with appearance and detail, and mountain architects are extremely familiar with these techniques.

More than just detail, That Architect’s residences have to do with an intimate connection with their surroundings; their environment, especially the views. Mountain views can be amazing and the land can be costly in established areas like Lake Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Telluride, Cashiers, LakeToxaway, Glenville, Highlands, Boone, and The Alps.
